Dr. Bell has extensive experience and training with the treatment of adults for a variety of problems and has many years of successful outcomes in her treatment of individuals. Throughout her career, she has treated individuals for problems that span a broad spectrum of issues, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, or PTSD. She has also obtained additional certifications in problem solving therapy, which is a unique approach to helping individuals develop coping skills for everyday difficulties. Dr. Bell believes therapy should start with an understanding of the person and be collaborative in nature between the therapist and the client. For this reason, she takes time to understand the individual, and from that understanding, select the therapy approach that is best suited to the individual's therapy goals.

THE PROCESS:
At its core, Dr. Bell's therapy process centers on a collaborative relationship between therapist and client, relying heavily on mutual respect and trust. The first visit with Dr. Bell involves an in depth individual interview to learn more about the client and client history, as well as outlining current problems and their impact on client's life. After this initial intake, Dr. Bell then uses the information collected to design a treatment plan based on the client's individual needs. She will pick from several evidence-based therapies that have been shown to be effective in treatment of the client's problems. For example, a client may need cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy for the treatment of depression or anxiety. It is important to note that the selection of a therapy method is dependent on how the CLIENT presents his or her background and personality. In Dr. Bell's experience, a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy is less effective than one that accounts for independent variables such as background, personality, and worldview. Finally, throughout the therapy process, clients will complete regular assessment measures so that Dr. Bell can measure progress in treatment on how the client is feeling/doing, or make any necessary adjustments.
